Fan + frozen 2L bottle water = air con!!

A friend just told me a trick he uses to keep himself cool at home.

Freeze a 2L bottle of water.

Place frozen bottle in front of ordinary fan.

Turn on fan!

The air comes out much, much cooler, for hours!!

Try it & see!

Surely the bottle will break if water is allowed to freeze in it?

Not if you use a plastic bottle and leave space for the water to expand as it freezes.

sit the bottle on a plate or plastic bag to avoid drips and a wet floor.
