An update to my previous post.
LCA have apologised that they had not got back to me after a few efforts by me.
They have advised that because Wolstenholmes have not made contact about my complaints (within the 28 days)they will now be writing to them.I have sent LRA a letter to confirm no response from Wolstenholmes
I have only just returned to this post to see that the offices of Wolstenholmes have been closed down.
It may have been mentioned before on here but if you paid your deposit by credit card or even debit card you may have a claim via the card company.
My complaint with Wolstenholmes is that they held onto the remaining monies of 26k +after my sale which completed 6/10 and didn't prepare and send the money
until 19/10 which then went to my previous address which I collected 24/10 and banked cheque. This cleared the following week luckily.
Also they asked my mortgage company for 120k about four days before for the mortgage money costing me extra intrest.
I do hope everyone affected gets justice. My solicitor was Suki Dhinsa at Birmingham who did work well for me.I think other work passed on from her was being held up or messed up
On a final note
Some posts are saying that the price that Wolstenholmes were charging would send alarm bells ringing.

Fridays supplied me with the Hip for a fantastic price and I see they are very cheap for house services.
Should you suspect a company just on price?Maybe a little more in 'google' searching after the price is what is needed.

question in regard to shocked
+ horrified solicitor in previous post yesterday
the mention about them being more scared if you mention police and stolen goods can you do this for your deposit if they dont transfer it across and how long do you have to give them ? they have paid my old mortgage to complete my sale side havent paid estate agent yet but was promised today if not yesrerday but weather helping with delay tactics and expecting excuses :eek:0 -
Just some info on task DWF have. They had 38 staff in over the weekend going through the files, so if like me you were getting a bit anxious on not hearing anything yet, I think we will have to accept that it will take some time. I look forward to reading the first case of a postive result here on this thread some time.
A question was asked in parliament yesterday re. the SRA in this matter
http://www.markhunter.org.uk/news/000588/hunter_to_meet_with_jack_straw_to_secure_justice_for_wolstenholmes_victims.html
As we all know now if the SRA had acted sooner many of us would not now be caught up in this mess.0 -

It sounds like it will take atleast a couple of weeks before the file can be sent to our new solicitors. In my case, I'm going to ask my new solicitor to request searches again, this may prove quicker. I am going to be homeless by the end of the month!!
If anybody does have a positive response from DFW please let us know.
Good luck to all!
They did answer my call and advised me to wait until they sort out this mess! I beleive it will take some time for them to go through it...if your matter is VERY urgent then please make them aware of your situation by emailing and follow up calls to the person who answered your call..also remember to take his/her direct email and phone number....... Try to put your case on top of the list by doing this.... thats the only thing we can do now!!!!
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!0 -

Hi,
I tried phoning WH yesterday and today, trying to get some information on which fences are mine(nothing shown on the deeds). Having read this forum I now know why I can't get in touch, not that you could when they were trading!
I've never had to chase and complain to a company so much in such a short space of time as I did with WH. Luckily I managed to get the sale through within a month of starting and the land registry sorted 3 months afterwards.
I too had the changing of solicitors and the distinct feeling that I as a FTB knew more about it than they did!
I've spoken to most of the people at WH mentioned in this post. The number of phone calls made to them doubled the cost of my monthly bill!
I feel sorry for anyone who has lost money and hair due to WH. I'm glad it was only hair for me! However I'm more than happy they've been shut down, I just hope the authorities nail them to the wall!
Cheers,
Gavin0 -

Yes, if they've got money of yours and they're not letting you have it, then you have every reason to suspect that they've stolen it. I'd certainly make a complaint to the police. However, as DWF are going through the figures anyway, the police will probably not want to do anything precipitate until they have a report from DWF.
There's no reason why you shouldn't tell the press that you've made a complaint to the police about your missing money though.0 -

My localpolice Thames Valley weren't interested and were on the verge of incompetence. They told me as I had handed the money ovr voluntarily there was nothing they could do.0 -

Thank you.
I again urge everyone who hasn't already done so to contact their MP this maybe the only way you may get compensation in the end.
I just spoke to DWF whilst I accept this will take time the person I spoke to did not instill much confidence within. My £41k cannot be repatriated until my file has been found, my file has not been located yet and may not be located as it was one that was with Stirling Law, Stirling Law claimed to have sent it back to Wolstenholmes so God knows where it might be. When I asked are you really trying to tell me that my money will not be returned until my file is located I offered to provide the email sent by Stirling Law telling me what account to pay it into and a copy of the CHAPS receipt as my fear is A: my file will contain nothing, as they did nothing, B: Will not be located. I explained that the easiest thing to do might be to look at the account I paid the money into and back trace it from there.
\i do hope this is not a case of going from the frying pan into the fire.0 -
"Jack Straw to meet with Mark Hunter to discuss Wolstenholmes victims"
Found the above on another thread.
Its great to hear that we the Wolstenholmes victims are being heard at high level - about time - my thanks to Mark Hunter for taking this up. :T
Have just had a call from the LCS to acknowledge my complaint and to advise me of the current situation. Already knew most of what they said due to the information posted on the forum.
Thanks to everyone for the updates.0
