Silly question on Natwest account

I recently opened a Natwest Currentplus account online, got the account with cheque book and a £50 OD limit (Never used it), but only got a Solo debit card. Now I only run some spare Auditing money through the account (£300+ Per Month). I only had it a month and upgraded it to Advantage Gold, I thought I would get a new card but I did not, I queried this with branch and they told me that I need to run it for 3 months and after that I can apply for a Servicecard.

So my questions are:

1) Am I just being stupid in wanting a Servicecard (My other non Natwest account has a Visa Debit card and Cheque card and I have never guaranteed a Cheque).

2) The branch said is was quite common to issue a Solo card first and then upgrade after a few months (So is it not just me ?).

3) Is a £50 OD quite easy to get as I thought I would not have gotten one.

4) Should I just run this perfectly and if so do they do the upgrade based just on how I have run the account.

Sorry for all the questions I am just wondering if I should persist with Natwest or look elsewhere, but that said I have everything on the account, Cheque Book, OD etc just a silly 'Solo' card !.

Thanks.

Mate, why use them? If you have banking elsewhere which is fine, plus a full account with debit card - why leave? Natwest are a shower of !!!!!! - read these forums and see the people moaning about them!

I'd avoid them like a dose of the Jackson 4.....

To be fair although natwest have their fair share of bad press on the forums if you read the forums and all the threads about how bad various banks are you would never change banks.

NatWest are fairly !!!!!!, I have always said that they have "another way" ... of queuing! (as there's ALWAYS long queues for the counters their branches). :P

Maybe they're being awkward, but the tip for you is that you should continue running money through the account. Do you use the card at all?
If not, then they probably won't see any point in getting your card upgraded.

Probably, it was the same for me too. I got a Solo card and then changed the account type (to student) and used it for a bit beforehand.
