Hi,
We are doing some work on our house and are upgrading our current TV to a new flat screen one which is to be mounted on the chimney breast. We have selected our TV (PANASONIC TX-L32X10B) and have spoken to a local aerial engineer who has done some work for us before who is going to supply us with the bracket and fit it and add an HDMI cable for future use - as we have freeview+ and a dvd recorder neither of which have HD capability. So I thought I was all sorted until.... my PC totally died and has been donated in parts to save other PCs! My friend mentioned that it might be worth getting a PC that I could wire up to my new TV and use that as it will save us much needed space. Although I am fairly computer compitent I have to admit this is not something I had considered or that I know much about. Does anyone have any tips? Is this worth doing or is a sperate PC better?
I need to make a decsion pretty quick as the fitting will be happening next week and I need to buy the TV this weekend.
Thanks
Clarry

Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.

Basically, all you need is for your new computer, be it desktop or laptop, to have HDMI output. This way you can use your TV as a very, very large monitor, which is useful when playing DVDs, streaming iPlayer / youtube etc.te audire non possum. musa sapientum fixa est in aure.0

so, my next question... any ideas of the best place to go to get a slimline/mini PC with HDMI and good graphics - mainly be used for home photos, internet, watching TV and films and creating a few docs for various charities I am involved with. Have got four kids who will eventually want to play games and surf too. Use open office and have powerful laptop for work. Don't want to spend a fortune but want good quality as had no end of trouble with my last PC.

just looking round the net at options. Do you think a mac mini would be a good one? Husband would love a mac at home as he is a graphic designer and I am quite into photography and hope to get better so wonder is this might be an option?Old Faithful we roam the range together,
