HI stapeley
i pay 20% of my take home pay for 2 children under 18, for one child the guidline is 15% it can be reduced further if you have your child stay with you for more than 1 night a week.
hope this helps and hope your ex starts to take responsibility soon0 -
forgot to add, as far as i know new partners income does not come into it, but if that new partner and your ex have new baby that will efect what they pay.0

My OH has 3 kids, he pays his ex 25% of his take home pay - think that figure was a CSA guideline amount, not that the CSA were involved
He pays towards school uniforms, trips, clotohes, shoes & their phone billsI do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
There is no right answer of what is reasonable as the only measure of what it should be is the CSA calculation
This is a set calculation of net income (gross less tax, NI and pension contributions) of the payer - 15% for 1 child, 20% for 2 and 25% for 3 or more. Income of new partners on either side is irrelevant for the purposes of the calculation, but if the payer lives in a household with children then that can reduce the calculation of what is paid. Also the amount of staying contact (overnight) that the paying parent has, is relevant and reduces the calculation
There are some differences to the calculation if someone paying is on a very high or very low income - but this gets complicated and doesn't really affect the vast majority
even if you are not going throught the CSA this is the method that most family solicitors would use to calculate what is "reasonable"
can you give us some more details of whether you are paying, receiving and how many children there are on both households as this would helpBack to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak
Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help :beer:0 -

Sorry did not want to give out too much imformation , ex may be reading forum !! I pay her roughly 40% of my monthly income .0

Is that 40% of your gross income (before tax, NI etc.)? If so that is very high. If not, roughly what % of your gross income do you pay?
BTW I don't think your partner's income shouldn't affect what you should be paying, at least not according to the CSA guidelines.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0
