pay day loans

Hi,I wonder if someone could help me?
i get married next saturday and we still owe £200 to our venue which has to be paid by next week.we were going to pay it today when my partner got paid but his employer has taken nearly £200 out of his wages for 'advance recovery' he's waiting to hear back from them now to explain what this is and why they've taken it.
so basically i need to get £200 asap.we have no savings and no friends or family that can afford to lend us the money.
would a pay day loan be a good idea?i can afford to pay it back when i get paid at the end of july,or does anyone have any other options for getting the money?
many thanks in advance

Have you got any Jewellry you could Pawn ? Over a short period of time that will work out much cheaper and you wont risk the huge charges you get stung with should a pay day loan roll over to the next month

Hi. All the best for the wedding.
If you really have no other option, go for the Paydayuk cashback deal through Quidco or Topcashback. Its £50 when you take out a loan, there will be £50 interest on a £200 loan but technically you've got it paid for.

Advance recovery sounds like he took some of his wages early in the past, so now they are clawing it back.

Payday loans are a huge risk if you aren't 100% sure it will be paid off at least a week or two before it's due (to cater for any delays or "technical faults").
If it goes wrong, you will be in a mess for a long time to come.

How about downsizing the wedding, find another venue for less money. No doubt lose a bit from your deposit but you will still be left with some to hire somewhere smaller.

Don't go into married life in debt, the shine will not last long if you do.

    Hi,thanks for your suggestions.
he's never asked for an advance on his wages so we're really puzzled over what this deduction from his wages is for.
with only 8 days until our wedding its not possible to change venues now.we'd lose the £2,500 we've already paid and we'd then have to find the extra money to hire a new venue, food drink etc.we already lost money when our original venue went into liquidation in april.
i can definatley pay the loan back on my next payday so it shouldn't be a problem.think i'll have a look at the quidco cashback suggestion - thanks nathanp

If you do use payday, make sure you use quidco for £50 cashback (£50 off cost of the loan in effect). Usual caveat about cashback not guaranteed etc...

Have you a chequebook and Guarantee card?

You could cash 3 cheques to the tune of a £300 and get about £250 back. Not ideal, but could sort the problem out.

Have you spoken to the venue? Perhaps they might be willing to wait, or take it in two instalments instead. Or try asking his employer for an advance, explaining that you hadn't expected the deduction and that it is causing a big problem so soon before your wedding.

Can you use a credit card, or extend your overdraft for a month. Both of them would be under £5 for £200 :)
