MATH wrote:Hi Lillibet. I would freeze at the first stage rather than fully cooked. Food always tastes fresher and better par cooked and then finished off that fully cooked and reheated IMO. Curry and Chilli are obviouse exceptions to this rule. They always taste better fully cooked, frezen and reheated that they do it you cook and eat them fresh.
DOH! I quoted the wrong person:o
Fair point Math. I think I probably tend to cook first beacuse I like the idea of it being ready to go when I need it, even though I would defrost before re-heating anyway. But I guess it 's whatever works for you;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

I really miss my chest freezer
It had to go into storage when I moved into this poxy little flat, as there's barely room to swing a cat here, so I'm stuck with just my upright fridge/freezer now"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

MATH wrote:Now I've given it some thought I will cook next week as part of my eat one - freeze one campaign:
Chicken Curry x 2
Roasted Vegetable Pasta x 2
Sausages in Goulash Sauce x 2
Spicy Chilli Potato Bake x 2
Meat Loaf x 2
Jam/Lemon Curd Tarts x 4 doz
Shortbread x 2
Flapjack x 2
Rock Cakes x 4 doz
Cherry Cake x 2
As it's coming to the end of a pay month I Thanhave only planned cheap cook/bakes with the minimum of ingredients. - Might not have time to post much next week;)
Edit: Forgot that it is also "make a month of sarnies for the freezer week" so I will deffo be missing in action.
All sounds very YUMMY! Sausage with red pepper goulash is one of our faves. As is Roasted Veg Pasta, but i wouldn't have thought of freezing it - what combinations of veggies do you use? Ditto flapjack - standard recipe?
Last question, (PROMISE!), what fillings freeze well for the sarnies? (Have frozen home cooked ham, pork, chicken and cheese successfully without the bread wrapper, and wouldn't freeze things containing salad and mayo). Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.0
