MIL has just inherited a Canon Starwriter 400/500 word processor, which is years old, and with empty Canon BC-01 ink cartridge. Have found out suppliers of original and remanufactured cartridges, so got that info for her and can pass that on tomorrow.
However, have loads of ink (JR inkjet refill kit), and wondered if it was possible to refill an empty cartridge, which does seem to have a chip within - but since my knowledge of ink cartridges is bunging them in the printer, haven't a clue. No instructions with refill kit for that particular cartridge. Probably the empty cartridge is so dried out now, it will be useless, as believe the processor hasn't been used for quite some time.
Would appreciate if anyone can help at all.
Thanks in anticipation.

The directions for that particular cartridge are given below. The cartridge has probably been dry for too long to refill but what have you got to lose?

Thanks for that link adamuk, will give it a bash, but do suspect this cartridge will be too dried up, but useful for later on.0

With some refill kits you get a bottle of cartridge flush. Pour some onto a plate and stand the nozzle part of the cartridge in it.
