  • Hiya,

Did you miss me? *crickets chirp* Didn't notice I was gone? Ok. :D

@ Maz - Good luck for tonight. My parents split when I was 13 and the only advice I can give is make sure you tell her the split isn't her fault and be prepared for her to not believe you. I'm nearly 20 () and have only just stopped blaming myself for my parents splitting. In fact, it's only because of writing this that I realise I don't blame myself anymore. Oh, and do just keep it brief. My mum still goes on about how she regrets hurting my dad every time I see her. It drives me mad. I'll probably get it this weekend too.

The house move is finally sorted. :j I now have boxes everywhere, again. I'm going to my mum's this weekend so unpacking will have to wait until Mon. It's a gorgeous house though, absolutely huge. I've got loads of room to put all my stuff so from now on, I plan to try to keep things somewhat tidy.

Someone's nicked the last £35 hotel room for Weymouth! :( I can't afford the next one up so I'm going to wait until closer to the time when we know what we're doing when and see about coming down by train for a few hours on the Sun. I'm determined to meet you lot before Bristol.

Anyway, I'm starving so I'll go see what's in the fridge. Oh, that's another thing. Two fridge/freezer units between 5 of us and there's only two of us moved in so far. I can batch cook! :j

Maz I don't want to project or anything but he is a sh*t if he says that to her. She is a child FGS and quite frankly your reasons for separating are not really for her - she just needs to know she is loved by both of you. Sorry. My dad said this to me once - that it wasn't HIS fault he never saw me, it was all my mum's fault because she threw him out. I was 6. I didn't have a clue at the time but 20+ years on guess who's funeral I would never attend? OBVIOUSLY there is more stuff but it's just a long line of dodging responsiblity and it starts small.

If I can do anything practical to support you I will.

Maybe the EA is pulling a fast one, maybe. But if it is already cheap for area/size then you're not really being ripped off, which is the crucial thing. Decoration etc can still be done uber cheap and it is the little things that make a house a home. What good dept stores are close by you? It's sale time :)

Eta: I don't mean that you should keep Erin in the dark, you know her best and what she can/can't deal with and in later years I wished there had just been a bit more honesty from my mum - not at the time of the separation perhaps but then I was younger than Erin - but there is a difference between saying 'me and your dad aren't getting on/don't love each other anymore' and saying 'it's all your mum's fault', I hope you get where I'm coming from

Just realised I've not heard anything from that job I applied for - been two weeks and the advert is no longer on their website so I guess I probably won't.. ho hum.
