Daily Mail holiday offer

I see that they dont offer bed linen with the offer and wondered how much they charge to hire and is it per person or different way they charge.

I think the individual site will invoice you for linen & entertainment and give you the choice - I usually take sleeping bags or sheet, duvet cover and pillow case covers.

Im a bit annoyed (at myself really for not checking) but just noticed that many sites (including the ones I have booked at) are charging £9.99 a NIGHT for service charges. The sun holidays usually charge a service charge of abut £5 a site for the same site! So my cheap weekend away not turned out very cheap after all!!!

Just been to Spain and paid £7.00 for blanket and sheet hire per person per week.

I've only ever been with The Sun but bed linen is usually £14/£15 per unit. We always take out own. (More often than not you'll find that the duvet covers are already on when you get there whether you have paid or not!)

The whole gas/electricity charge is a right con. We can power our three bedroom house for a lot less than they seem to think it costs. They have now added 'cleaning' to that but I've never seen a awful lot of evidence of it.

As Leegee says, you will be invoiced from the site itself and they will try to stick all manner of things on it to make their price up but remember you only have to pay for the 'service charge' everything else is optional. When you make your service payment make it clear that you don't want the other things - well, if you don't, obviously

Where are you thinking of going? Hope you enjoy yourself. They are still a cheap way to get away. We always go Mon-Fri, a far better deal than Fri-Mon.

£10 per pack. Packs are per bedroom regardless of how many beds are in them.

So 2 bed caravan ( 4 people) = £20 3 bed caravan ( up to 6 people ) = £30

These are the hire charges stated on their own site. As such, if they state anything different on your confirmation, query why the sheets cost more than any normal booking. A sheet is a sheet!

As for the service charges, there does seem to be a descrepancy at the moment based upon what is published with the Sun's details and the Daily Mails details. Again, there should be no difference betwwen the two as the papers are not responsible for these charges. The Mail's appear to be dearer, so compare the two for your holiday site and query it if you are charged the higher amount. Cleaning is cleaning, electricity is electricity. No more expensive just because you read the Daily Mail.

But then again................................:D

I have just rang Haven as they are charging £29.97 for 3 nights Service charge if you are a Daily Mail reader and only £17.97 for the same period if you are a Sun Reader !! Haven basically say that the deals are arranged with each individual paper and not Haven - they just take the money....

So my cheap holiday is costing me £140 if I choose to pay for entertainment and linen - but I hope I dont have to buy these, so £90 with out for 3 nights - shame im only staying for 2 nights but I guess its still a pretty cheap weekend break just hope it doesnt rain like it usually does when I head to the south coast!

Gas and electricity is included. Service charges range from £18 to £28 per holiday home per break and will be charged direct to you by your park in advance of your arrival. Some parks may also charge an additional refundable cleaning/damage waiver deposit.
So if you are paying £29.97, i would question it

Got my confirmation today.

Entertainment passes: £26.00 for 4
Service charges: £39.96 for 4 nights
Bed linen: £14.00 for 2 bedrooms

Well the passes can go for a start and I'll be ringing them on Monday to ask why the service charges are almost twice the cost for the same site, same caravans and same cleaning service as those booked through the Sun deal:mad:

i just had my conformation letter through from haven today, i rang them to say i didnt want the linen or entertainment passes so saved £35. so £80 for a 4 nights holiday/break at the begining of september isnt so bad.
hope i havent paid much more by using the daily mail and not the sun.
