How long does Barclaycard take to refund due to liquidation?

Hi,
I am in a dispute with Barclaycard due to goods that were ordered with a supplier (replacement windows for my property) and the supplier went bust failing to deliver goods (the goods actually were never delivered to the supplier from the factory, a third party - the supplier cancelled the order with the factory - I learnt this afterwards) nor to give me a refund. I opened this dispute back in February, and still Barclaycard have not closed it out. I've written and telephoned multiple times. I never get a response in writing and telephone operators know nothing (apart from telling me that it is still with another department, but I am not sure about their facts). I've finally complained to the Financial Ombudsmen Service. The value of the disputed transaction is high (>£5000, <£7500), and I've supplied Barclaycard with all the right paperwork (incl. details from the administrators). Not only that, but Barclaycard are still charging me interest on the disputed transaction, and factoring it into my minimum repayment requirement - I only realised this in the last month and I am very angry. I am also angry that my credit record will show that this balance is still outstanding on my card (I never carry debt for long). I'm in the process of applying for credit card elsewhere so that I can completely ditch Barclaycard - despite being a high use customer for over 10 years. I intend to leave only the remaining value of the transaction on the card and if they try and pursue me for the debt then good luck trying to get a claim against me considering they are jointly liable for failure to deliver or refund!
Has anyone else ever had any problems along these lines, and how long as it taken or what have they done, or are there any suggestions for me?
Thanks!

It can take as long as is necessary but usually they are looked at after a month (28 days) and the process can take the same again. Obviously if the company is bust and the receivers/liquidators are involved the process should be speeded up somewhat. You would also get a refund of interest when it is all sorted so carry on paying for now and they will refund it all when it is sorted.
It can be slow, especially right now being there are more chargbacks this year than ever before (recession anyone?)....... However this is way too slow, personally i'd be sending in an account in dispute notice to their complaints team. Putting the account formally into dispute means all charges and repayments are ceased until outcome of whatever investigation caused you to place the account into dispute and also gives the CC company a timeframe (usually 28 days!)
If you're struggling to pay, then put your CC into dispute with barclaycard and request a cessation of interest/charges until resolved.

I have just had the same hassle with Nationwide - eventually sent a secure message telling them they had 7 days to make the refund or I would take it further either with FOS or small claims. I also asked for an official complaint as they were not treating it as a section 75 refund but trying to get a chargeback from VISA and kept messing us about asking for more and more proof. Three days after this the refund was applied. Complaints phoned a couple of days ago and we managed to get an extra £15 compensation.

Write to them and tell them they have 14 days to refund your money or you will raise a claim with the small claims courts.
Have a look through this forum too.
