Am expecting a delivery of a new Dell laptop. It will come installed with McAfee and other software which i won't be using. I know you can uninstall some programs but am sure there is a certain way of uninstalling the McAfee software. If that is correct any idea how to go about it.
Thanks
Thanks
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way

This should do the trick, but if you want to remove anything else Revo Uninstaller and the PC Decrapifier might also be worth considering.0

Info along with a download to the official McAfee Removal Tool is here: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507
If you want it 100% clean, wipe the disc, reinstall the OS and start from there, but make sure you have a reinstall CD first!0 -

LOL didn't notice your first link! :beer:0 -
Dells have a hidden partition when a backup image / recovery image / factory reinstallation file is put, so I wouldnt format and reinstall the os cleanly on a brand new dell.
When you get and the Dell one of the first things it should ask you to do is it burn a recovery disc. I suggest before you do anything you do exactly that, the recovery disc will included the boot aswell, so if you did decide to format you should be covered. And put it somewhere safe. The remove any software you dont want and then add the software you do want, then create a new backup image.0 -
Using one of these, perhaps?...then create a new backup image.0 -
Thanks -TangleFoot- for the link. Yes, out of those five, I would probably choose either Drive XML or Paragon, if i went the free option, personally use Acronis True Image at the moment. Used norton ghost 8.5 - 9 until it let me down, some how created a corrupt image.
There is away to get Acronis True Image for free, by downloading a compilation cd called Hirens boot cd 9.9, but you have to boot from the cd to create the image.
http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd link to homepage, so you can read whats on the cd.0 -
