paypal used an old debit card number

How can i get to talk to a person at paypal??-they've used an old card number that i changed from ages ago and now i've been whacked for a £30 charge plus unauthorised o/d fees.
The details in my account are correct so i dont see their problem. Can i ask them to pay the costs that they caused??

What do you mean when you say:

Surely when you pay for items you choose the card to pay with?

  • did you remove the old card number from the system/make the new one the primary one?

I have 2 accounts-one has less cash in it.When i first opened my paypal account I used the account which had all my salary etc. I decided to pay from the other account so changed the card number on paypal.
Somehow they are using the original number and there were no funds at the time!!

Log In to your PayPal account. Make sure you're on the My Account page. Click the Profile tab (top right). In the central column - click on the Bank Account link.

Make sure the account you're wanting to use is at the top and marked Primary? If not - make it that way - but I think you've just lost any claim against PayPal. Then delete the other account if you're sure you won't use it again on PayPal. If unsure - just leave it there. They will only use the Primary one by default.

Then write / phone your Bank and tell them to refund the £30 charge as its excessive and unwarranted. I'll post a link here in a minute that will give you a bit more insight to that?

 I've sorted it out now--I think-changed the card number etc. and just need to keep enough in or transfer funds when I need to pay up.

    I remember when petrol was 3/6d--beer was 1s 2d-chips seemed free--Whoops--another moment!!Thank you for your help. :o

Unfortunately I also remember those prices. In fact I convert back when I'm feeling mean. Do you realise a 1st class stamp- is the equivalent of 2 gallons of your petrol. And it now costs me over £50 to fill the car.

But I'd miss Ebay if we turned the clock back :D
