blowing up latex balloons in advance?

Hello, we are having hellium latex balloons at a party on Saturday and as there is a lot to get done we obviously want to do as much as possible on the Friday. Im not sure about latex balloons and how quickly they sag though. some are for kids to take home and others are for a balloon release so need some ummph in them! Does anyone know if blowing them up one day early would be ok or if its best to wait until the day? Thanks

    Hi Vikki

From experience of having helium balloons last November, I'd recommend that you leave it until a few hours before you need them, if at all possible.

as someone that blows up a lot of helium and hydrogen ballons for work (i work in a school science dept) you need to blow them up as close to the event as poss - helium and hysrogen are both tiny molucules that diffuse through the latex, think the ones in shops dont suffer from that problem cos of the plastic they're made from

    Hi there
I sell a lot of balloons and have been trained in balloon decorating. If you fill balloons with just helium, they will generally last for 12-18 hours. The only way around this is to use something called hi float. You pump it into the uninflated balloon and it coats the inside of the balloon to stop the helium escaping so quickly and the balloons then last for days, if not weeks. I sell this stuff, but wouldn't be able to get it to you for tomorrow! Maybe try your local party shop??
    Hope this helps. Debbie.
