Child Tax Credit Payments

Im guessing this is the right place to post this
Im in reciept of child tax credit for my 2 children my son is 5 and my daughter is 1.
When they first started the child tax credits they were under paying me by around £6 a week after many phone calls being told that it was right 3 weeks after i gave birth to my daughter i got a cheque through the post back dating what they had underpaid me
Anyway after that they sorted out the money for my daughter and started to pay it when my daughter was around 3 months old, backdating from the date she was born.
All has been fine as far as i am aware with payments since then up until last week when my payment changed from £86.24 to £97.02
i vaguely remembered something about it going down by £10 when my daughter turned 1 but i thought i may have got this wrong and it was actually going up by £10
so didnt think much more of it until i printed a mini statment from the cash machine this morning and they only paid in £74.74 this week
needless to say im even more confused about this now than i was to start with. Does anyone know how much i should be recieving for my 2 children, if it should have gone up or down, and who i would need to contact to clarify what is going on?

Hi
Could it be anything to do with this.
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits/childrens-tax-credit.htm
" Was there a special rate for babies?
In tax year 2002-03 there was an additional £520 of Children's Tax Credit for families with a baby born during that tax year. This meant that for those families Children's Tax Credit was worth up to £1049 in 2002-03."
Have a look on this link there are also frequently asked questions, alternatively give them a bell. Or hopefully someone on here works for them / understands them?
Hope it helps0 -
she wasnt born til march 2005 and has only just turned 1 so i dont think it would have been that, thought i would ask on here first before giving them a call as with previous experiences i have found myself being fobbed off even though i was right
just want to know what to say to them before i say it really lolThe Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

Yep should have noticed that. With our kids we have to complete a form every year and that has reduced payments if our joint income has gone up. is it anything to do with that? Its not a very easy system to understand
Bump
Have you looke at the tab on child tax credits at the top of the page in the blue box0 -
ur right about it not being an easy system to understand im baffled lol
have never had to complete any forms apart from the initial form to claim it
the only thing that i am thinking is maybe they made a mistake paying me the 97.02 last week and had put it up by a tenner rather than reducing it by a tenner (if what i remembered was correct) and corrected it this week by reducing it by the tenner and taking back the tenner extra if that makes sense? The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

the tax credit people back in 2004 when my third child was born they made a right mess. first they had two zoey's and when they finally sorted that out. they started to put double tax credit payments into our bank. so as soon as i notice any change in the time or amount of money going into our bank account i get on that telephone to them. because they don't send out adjusted award's out for a week or so when you have noticed any change in the amount or date the money goes into your bank.
i think award's first then change in your amounts in bank account's later on.
plus it does not help with the tax credit portal being closed off because i could keep upto date with any change they have made. because the awards were much quicker to view online than waiting for them to come through the post.
see you from kerry.
