Big problem with BT - is there anything more I can do?

Hi everyone - first post but big stress!
I set up an account with BT to set up a phone line connecting (not installing) for a flat I’ve just moved to in London.
I entered the address I wanted the phone line in, and for the billing address I put my parents address where my bank details are registered to.
I got an email through saying my line would be activiated on 2nd July, but the email stated the number would be connected to where my parents live. I rang BT and told them they’d got it wrong and they said they’d cancelled the order and re-set it up.
Two weeks later (today) my mum rings me off her mobile and says her land line has been cut off. I contact BT (which takes about an hour) and they say my mother has to reapply to her phone company to get her number changed back (they’re with Pipex) and it could take days. My parents also run a business from that address so they are losing customers by not having their line working. Now I’m really stressed about that.
BT have fully admitted this is their fault, but is there anything else I can get done? I think my parents deserve some compensation for all the trouble they’ve had.
If anyone could give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Sam

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Ok, after a promising first PM from BT's company rep on here, I've sent him numerous emails which he hasn't responded to - even though I've seen he's replying to other messages on the public forum. Very disheartening.
This matter is still unresolved in any way, in fact it's got worse as my parents are still without their phone number - BT are sending letters to me but addresed to my parent's house - even though I don't live there. These letter's don't even acknowledge the problem even after I've told them numerous times on the phone that it's all wrong.
I have no idea what to do - especially now the BT rep on MSE isn't replying to me.0 -
ARRRRGHH!!! I'M TEARING MY HAIR OUT HERE!!!!
My parents STILL have no number which means they are losing money every day, I spend hours on the phone trying to get through to BT only to be told they will ring me back - and then they don't. The BT rep on these forums said he would help me but hasn't at all, even though I've seen him posting to numerous other people so I know he's been on here. I've sent him about 3 PM's now with no response. WHAT CAN I DO??????!!!!!!0 -
