motability questions

Options
i am considering using my Higher rate Dla against a motability vehicle but my DLA is only valid til end 2010.. last time i renewed it it took me 5months to win it back again (despite me having a degenerative back problem!)..anyways my questions

1... what happens if when u do your renewal u have to appeal and it takes 5mnths or longer to get your award determined

2.. what happens if u do NOT get your award back at all or get put onto a reduced rate and are therefore not on higher rate anymore

3.. i was told that u can buy the car at the end of the 3yrs for trade prices is this true?

many many thanks in advance

hi shykins,i know that you can buy the car cheaply at the end of the 3 years.also you have to have at least a year remaining on your award to get the car but not sure what happens if you get a reduced rate dla.
i assume that the car would have to go back.

Its not true you can get the car cheaper after the hire period, motability charge more than average dealer prices because they know the cars history and so do you since youve had it since new.

If you have mobility problems you cant get lower rate mobility, its for supervision outdoors for MH/LD.

If your renewal is refused you can keep the car while you appeal but if you lose you have to pay what it has cost, @£49 pw. If you get a HRMC on appeal it would be back dated to pay for the car over that period.
