How strict are Butlins re ages?

Options
I'm looking at booking a holiday to Butlins on a Half Board basis for my myself OH and 2 kids. 1 is 18 months and the other will be 3 in a few weeks.

Basically my question is will I get caught out if I book them both as being under 2?

I begrudge paying a childs price for the eldest as he doesnt eat that much and the extra in price is only for the HB as it would be the same price for him on SC.

What happens when you go for meals? Do you have to hand in tickets or give your room number etc?

If you are caught out, you will at best be asked to pay the extra, and at worst be asked to leave the centre immediately. The latter would consist of security taking you back to your accom and standing there whilst you packed. Very embarrassing, and rightly so.

When I worked there we did try to check up on this type of thing. Too many people trying to abuse the system. Why should you not pay when everybody else is?
    Gone ... or have I?
  • why not do a sun hol and just pay £38 regardless of age.

If SC then you are very likely to get away with it but in my opinion a nearly 3 year old is unlikely to pass for say a 20 month old.
They give you meal passes which you have to have stamped on entry so they will get to 'look' at you but you may get some old guy who has no idea of the difference of ages or a mum who cottons on straight away!
I personally wouldnt risk it as if you are caught they will make you pay the difference or at very worst evict you from the park for being in breach of your terms and conditions.
