Help with WORD changing my date field

Hi
I have created a WORD form template which has various drop down fields menus, text box fields and a current date field
When I open the template it opens as a new .doc file as it should, it also inserts the current date into the date field as requested
When I save the file it saves it with that date as I want it too
I can open and view the file at any time and it still shows the date as 1st March as it should
The problem I am having is when I open the file up at a later date and try to print it
eg.
I save the new document with the date 1st March
If I open that file up again say 2nd July, it's still has the 1st March in the date field as it should
I then select to print the document the date changes from 1st March to 2nd July
How do I stop the print selection from changing the original date as explained above?

Sorted my problem

Changed the DATE field to a CREATEDATE field, this preserves the date the document was created
Pressed ALT+F9 to display the field code and edit it, then ALT+F9 to toggle back
Tested it out by changing the date on my PC created a new document dated Jan 2008, saved it then changed the PC date back, opened the doc and printed it out with the correct date :j0
