We have been offered some extras to our new build house as compensation for errors that were made in the build of the house - which is stil unfinished. The have asked us to sign a document saying that this will be in "Full and Final settlement of any claim".
We are worried that we spot other problems after we actually move in to the house and can't do anything about them. Can anyone advise if they think we should accept this and, if not, do we have an alternative?
Thanks!

What does your solicitor advise? How serious are the errors that you know about? There is almost always a snagging list as long as your arm with new builds - you wouldn't really want to sign away your rights to this.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Assuming you have a warranty with NHBC, Zurich, Premier etc you will be covered for defects, firstly as the builders liability for the first two years and then under a structural warranty for the remainder.
It depends on how serious the errors are will determine whether the extras are suitable compensation??!!

Thanks Guys - the errors relate to the way the house was built. The wrong foundations were laid and a steel beam had to be put in. This meant that we have a shorter cupboard door and the beam has been hidden behind boxing in. The house has also been delayed by a month. As I say we've only been in the house for 5 minutes and so we really don't know the full extent of error and we're worried that we might find other things in the future or that as it was a structural error the house may not be structurally sound in the future and we've waived any right to make a claim.0

I wouldn't sign it. Not until the house is finished and you were happy with it.0
