getting a refund to a cancelled debit card

my details were stolen at the start of june so my card cancelled and replaced (well its not blimmin arrived yet but thats another rant lol)

anyway i need a refund for something but they will only refund to the original card. As far as im aware this refund will bounce back but i have phones and been told it goes into my account not onto the card. I never gave my account details only debit card (online transaction)

Can anyone clarify what will happen as ive been told to wait 21 days but that would be daft if theres no chance of a refund

Why don't you call your bank & ask them?

Its ok, they have things in place at the bank to deal with this situation, but as advised already you have to tell them there's a credit coming to the old card, otherwise it bounces.

I've been in a similar situation to yourself too.

thanks will try them again, have just been on hold for ages and i always get an answer on here faster, which is why i asked here

well abbey have said the refund wont go to my account and to call ticketmaster back again.....

Just goes to show, you should bank with HSBC or Lloyds

They at least have never had any problem in that department, no their problems were keeping track of the card number, account information in the first place
