Hi everyone,
heres our situation. me (27) are fulltime employed and earn about 22K per year. My missus (24) currently fulltime employed on about 14k a year.
my missus has now been accepted on the MSc Occupational Therapy course :beer: at the UEA which starts in february 2010 (2 years full time), which is a mix of on the job training (unpaid) and lecture / workshop time at uni. the tution fees are paid by the NHS and there is a bursary (every year i think?) but we dont know how much she will get yet.
We have both been working fulltime since we finished uni over 3 years ago so have been totally self sufficient for over 36 months. we own a home together (1 bedroom flat in norwich) which we have lived in for about 2.5 years and will continue to do so through the duration of her course.
the plan is for me to pay the mortgage and general home running costs alone whilst the missus is at uni for two years, so we will need all the help we can get!
now, what we need is advise and guidance from any experienced people in;
what can we claim for?
what discounts are avilable?
how can we maximise the bursary if we can?
where to find things cheaper regarding our situation and any ways in which we can maximise our income (my wages and Bursary) and minimse our outgoings!
if anyone has any ideas or experience of this kind of situation then we would really appreciate some guidance or advice. thanks everyone.

Have a look HERE for information about NHS bursaries and support.
You'll get 25% off your council tax bill as you will be classed as a single person - students don't count when it comes to council tax.
She may also be able to get loans from the Student Loan Company as I think certain healthcare courses are exempt from rules which only allow one degree course to be funded. For more information go HERE
You should sit down together and work out all your income and outgoings to enable you to manage your finances.

My sister got her masters funded through the NHS. Lucky thing. I then reminded her that cancer patients are dying because they can't get expensive drugs for their treatment.
Nice to see the NHS working in so many positive ways isn't it?
Don't know why I'm posting this either, must be the heat!Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
