Cancelling cards- how long before reflected on credit report?

in Credit cards
After being rejected for a couple of cards recently, I've just paid off and closed down my Virgin card (£5K limit), my Barclaycard account (£500 limit) and reduced my personal and joint account overdraft limits from £5K each to £250 and £2500 repectively. In total, I've reduced my access to credit by £12,750.
I presume this should increase my credit score, but was wondering how long it takes to feed through and when it would be safe to reapply?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Anywhere from 1 to 3 months.
If time is of the essence, order a £2 statutory report (or 2) and, since they're valid for queries for 90 days, keep ringing to check the account status(s).0 -
Great, cheers. I have a couple of outstanding 0% interest ones finishing this October and March next year, so I should be fine for shifting the balances on them.0
