hello all, lovely day for you all i hope.. quick question, when we went to measure up the other day the vendor offered us the cooker for sale. We dont have one nd it looked ok so agreed £150 for it as it saves us messing about..

what is the best way of paying for this? its due to complete tomorrow, should i leave it at the estate agents, or put it through the front door or is there another way that is better??

Just phone the EA and ask how the vendor would like to receive the money. Maybe they have a paypal account?

From the OP's post, you have no idea whether or not they have no idea.

They could have fully discussed and been shown evidence of age and function. You also don't know if it is some cheap and nasty £150 cooker or a quality make and model with a high price tag.

well no, we dont know that for sure, but it looks ok and she said it cost them £450 a couple of years ago and i looked on ebay and 2nd hand cookers seem to be about £100- £150, then we'd have to pay for delivery or mess about collecting in my Ka.. (how?)or hire a van.. and lifting it and fitting it and then it might not work.. seemed an ok price for a cooker that is already in place... plus we may be changing the kitchen in a year or 2 so will look at maybe changing the layout so may need a new cooker... i think i'll take the money round and just check its working before i give it to her..

dont want to deal with EA as it turns out they have been lying and obstructive.. surprise surprise...

I agreed to buy a cooker and other stuff from the vendor. It was listed in the Property Information Form with a price on it so I have just let my sols include it in the conveyancing.
