Does section 75 apply?

Back in February 2008 my wife paid £5000 + VAT using her Egg Blue credit card to MyHome as a deposit for a domestic cleaning franchise, with the understanding that this would be refunded if her present business was not sold.
In September/October 2008 she contacted them saying she would like a refund as her business had not sold, which they agreed to.
Before this happened, MyHome went into administration.
My wife contacted Egg expecting a refund, but Egg replied that unfortunately there was a limit of 120 days and this was now outside this limit.
We assumed that this was correct, but I recently had a conversation with someone who says that we have a valid claim against Egg.
Can anyone advise please? There is nothing expected from the liquidation of the company and this is a substantial loss to my wife.
Thanks
