PC Clean up

Hi,

My Dell Laptop has got incredibly slow lately, even though Windows Defender and other spyware detectors say it's clean. Does anyone know of a free download of a 'PC Clean up'? Dell used to do it for me and it was fantastic, but now my license has run out. Is there a 'washer' or something like that?

Try this for a start my friend -- https://www.ccleaner.com {piriform} it'll get rid of most rubbish on your machine -- I use it regularly and its Free -- dave

I second CCleaner. Plus you may have too many unwanted progs running in the background. You can use Startup Inspector http://www.windowsstartup.com/ or type in msconfig into Run to turn these off on startup.

from the command prompt type msconfig and remove all the startup options not required or alternativly use ccleaner > tools > startup as above.

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW') ~ this will check for nasties

UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
