Cornwall in August

Hi
We are a family of four looking to spend a week in Cornwall, from 8th of August for the week.
Happy with self catering but will be having the odd meal out.
We would like to be near areas of fun for for two teenagers but we would also like to enjoy some of the walks along the coast.
Our ideal would be somewhere to entertain the kids, a pool as an example, while we can relax.
We would like a three bedroom, cottage, chalet, even a caravan would be considered.
Having not been to Cornwall since I was a child, does anybody have any suggestions where to stay?
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Hi it may not be what you are looking for but I stayed in a 3 bed caravan a few years ago. Is half way between Newquay and Padstow and a few mins from huge beach (in car). The site itself doesnt really have any kids facilities but with the beach so near and Newquay only approx 8 miles there should be plenty to do. I used to live in Padstow which is why I chose this particular spot. Its lovely and quiet but with everything really close.
Supermarkets close by are Tesco (in Padstow), Morrisons and another (which I cant remember) in Newquay.
If you would like to know any more just give me a shout (think I still have the paperwork and photos somewhere)Emma
