Why exactly?
Also are you volunteering to pay for one or two members of staff to do that for the possibly hundreds of posts removed every day?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.. Please note that Ambassadors are not moderators. As far as I remember it is a deliberate MSE policy to NEVER comment on why a thread or post has been removed.
Presumably that stance has been adopted on legal advice, so I can't see it changing.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I agree. Personally, I'd rather the MSE team were allowed to get on with helping us all save money and find great deals etc than having to play mummy to a load of toddlers. In my experience, threads are not removed for no reason, and the MSE team have enough on their plate, so just leave it and move on.0 -
Many threads must have become irrelevant with the passage of time. Seems reasonable to delete them rather than clutter the system with them.

If nobody is posting on them due to their relevancy with time, surely you must be actively looking for the threads for them to be an issue? Old threads just move to the bottom of the lists.0 -
What I meant is do we need to keep theads referring to some hot discount in Woollies three years ago?

So you don't mean let the moderating team who actually remove most of the posts and threads do the PM then.
OK, so how do I as a BG know when threads or posts have been removed, and also as there is no requirement for me to log in at all at any given interval how do I let posters know a thread has been removed straight away, I can't see the point of someone like me stockpiling PMs for a week, by then you'd have forgotton what the post was about anywayAlso as you rightly point out I am a volunteer and have better things to do that wait for the Forum Team to email me and tell me to pm users about deleted threads.
Lastly, if the team have to pm me to tell me to pm users about deleted threads aren't we back to my original question "Also are you volunteering to pay for one or two members of staff to do that for the possibly hundreds of posts removed every day?"I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
