The offer of a job share or to increase the hours is more than required.
It is actually exactly the same job with the same job description, the only thing enhanced is the number of hours they want somebody there doing it.0 -
This isnt a redundancy situation. By law, the definition of redundancy is a 'reduced need' for the particular type of work in question. An increased need is therefore the complete opposite of what redundancy is!
A job can often be legitimately restructured to include additional responsibilities or a new place of work etc but if the job will be exactly the same in every way just with more hours then it's up to the employers to fill that extra need by distributing the workload amongst existing staff or hiring someone else. I reckon OP should get some advice as it sounds suspiciously to me like they are hoping OP will jump before she's pushed?"I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself" -Oscar Wilde0 -
Employers have now agreed that this is not a redundancy after they took further advice!
As stated above I can shift my hours to start and finish earlier so they then have the opportunity to create a jobshare.
If they refuse, how do I stand?0
