Hello, I'm a newbie to posts but was hoping someone can advise if I should consider any other security other than what I have (bit of a computer novice so please bear with me) I currently have Avira AntiVirus, Windows Defender. I run a scan on avira each week, and currently don't seem to have any problems. What is the best way or system (?) to check over my files and computer?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

disable windows defender, it can conflict with other av's
avira is a good start
super anit spyware is another good free program for active spyware protection and scanning
and malwarebytes anti malware is a final program i would add as althought it doesnt offer live virus protection, it is an exceptionally good scanner and i found it finds stuff avira doesnt so is worth checking out
if you dont want all the fuss then microsoft security essentials beta is a good program
not quite the same protection but simple and all in one
also consider downloading Ccleaner, it doesnt protect against infection but comes in handy
and also auslogics defragger as again it can keep your system smoothBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -

i've never had any conflicts as defender is a (pretty rubbish) malware/spyware scanner and shouldn't conflict with an anti virus program0 -
Thanks for the reply, sounds like some good things to have a look into. I have read about the benefits of malwarebytes on other threads so will use that, not heard of the others, so off to read up and get a little more up to date with this security thing
