Skipton e-savings Account

I registered online for one of these accounts last week. Was given a Unique Identifier and sent off the application paperwork and initial funding.
I was told I need a grid card before I can do anything financial with the account but that I could log in and check things out- however I simply get told that it is "unable to validate details" before I get to answer any security questions.
Common problem that will sort itself out or do I need to phone the customer services teams?

I have one of these accounts and have had no trouble logging on.
Are you sure you're putting your unique identifier in correctly - a mixture of upper case letters and numbers, if you're using lower case it might be case sensitive.
That is the only thing you have to enter before you get to the password related questions so I am assuming you haven't got to your unique image and chosen phrase which is on the same page as the password questions.0 -

No I haven't been getting to the image or password questions- forgot about the image I chose!
I don't think it is the wrong identifier- I tried the 'forgot my identifier link' answered all the questions and still gave me nothing.
Looks like I'll have to give them a call tomorrow night- thanks for confirming that.0 -
I think Skipton are a bit weird. I have just, finally, got close to arranging a one year fixed rate bond - its only to next Feb really.
I arranged a BACS transfer but, apparently, they use Barclays for clearing monies and I should have put Skipton's Barclays A/c on the transfer from my bank as well as my A/c number wth Skipton. But there is nothing on the instructions about this Barclays number. Also, if you send Skipton a secure email on the web site someone phones you even in you have NOT ticked the "phone me" box and as I am always dashing off insulting emails I've had a lot of calls from them this week. One weary girl who was obviously fed up with me phoned me yesterday to say "don't you realise that sending an email means we have to phone you?"..........doh!! NO. What a daft system!. Still the rate is not bad at 3.87%0 -

I agree. The Skipton appear to have lost the balance between usability and security, too far in favour of security. Clearly security is vita but not to the silly lengths that they go to!0 -

Yep. Sort itself out in the end. Believe it to be down to when your application was received. Still not got the grid card- but the cash is in the account.0
