How do I create / view a .dat file or .DN# file on my computer?

Following on from my last thread ( http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1787925 )
I have put the SD design card in my computer and the files are a mixture of .DAT and .DN# (eg DN1, DN2) files.

How would I look at these on my computer, and how do I create my own files?

Thanks

Claire

If you ask them nicely, they might just tell you what software they use. The file extensions alone don't reveal much; there could be virtually anything inside.

You could open one of the files in Wordpad and tell us what it looks like, but my guess is it'll be encrypted gobbledygook.
