I don't really see myself as a po-lis! Far too gobby I think :o, it's the only thing I've seen that I can apply for that is any where in the region of my old pay though :( on the other hand I have seen a couple of jobs that I am going to go for only down point is they are both in the town I work in at the mo - had hoped to save a bit of travelling but beggars can't be choosers!
Butti I think the only folk achieving that on current prices either live underground and use mainly renewable off grid energy or have gorgeous Grand Designs eco build which cost so much they don't actually have to worry about the cost of energy but the environmental impact.

Don't forget exclaimation marks and dying swan effects.

I interviewed someone for my dissertation on Tuesday and I thought he said the tenants could heat the house for £68 a year. When I played it back he said if they adapted to the house (Passivhaus) they could heat the house for £68 but even if they didn't it was going to cost them about £100!

Which area of the country is he talking about? Isles of Scilly?

Well it's not like it would require a lifestyle change - would it?

You can do it if you have a wood burning stove with the woodland to go with it. You can get a lot of 2 stroke for your chainsaw for that...

Go on have a guess Zed.

Clues; I am a pooor inpoverished student and i was interviewing these people in person.

Yes, that's right, County Durham. £68 per year.

But Passivhaus if I remember correctly is super levels of insulation, mechanical ventilation and heat recovery, triple glazing. So super sealed in basically. Only a problem after the Xmas day sprouts!!!

Absolute nuts. Especially now as since they've banned incandescent lights, you can't steal heat out of the lighting budget...

Maybe that's it. How many farts can you light after one tin of brussel sprouts...

So cynical for one so young :D

Not teeny tiny, have a look, called the Racecourse, at Houghton le Spring.

Lets not have an argument, I have enough conflict at home. Nightmare lodger trying to argue that it was so much better in Afghanistan before the American's arrived because there was stability. No women's education (but who cares about that Mrs PhD lodger) but hey it's stable and they'll progress eventually - which century are we talking about? Do I need to give her notice, can't I just throw her off the first floor balcony?

I'll have a cruise past tomorrow, since I'm headed that way.

    Ho-le-hell.

It was the anus of the planet before they arrived, and will be the anus of the planet once they leave. Is it cruel or kind to give a brief period of what-could-be?

Ironically, that's one of the least of their problems.

Certainly before the 16th. Anyone in Afghanistan who questions, will end up dead. Even Galileo didn't end up dead, just under house arrest for the last 10 years of his life.

Why don't you ask her to wear a veil?

Just thought I'll try some new batteries and guess what. It wasn't dead, it was just resting!

    Happy Mothers Day Skinty
