    This is my dream................................
lol I'm a bit freezer crazy! About to be given a deep freezer and been daydreaming about filling it for weeks.
What I'm most looking forward to freezing a lot of is bread and milk as this will save me a lot of trip to the local shop for said items then spending £10 on stuff I don't really need...

If you're in a cooking mood I'd say make up bases for meals like a lot of tomato sauce that can be used for bolognese etc...
Buy meat when on offer like mince etc... fill freezer!

As for the layout, I tend to put meat in one drawer, veg in another etc but mainly for ease of finding stuff. Though for hygeine you should prob put meat in the bottom in case freezer starts defrosting and juices leak onto stuff.

    Have fun filling your freezer!

You know you're in the "old style" forums when someone starts a thread about a "fantasy empty freezer", and others reply as if it's the most perfectly normal thing (...to get excited about an empty freezer) in the world :rotfl:

P.S. I'm planning a big defrost myself too!

I'm sad when it comes to freezers and regularly repack my mums :rotfl:
Top drawer is breakfast stuff (reduces bending when hungover at weekends ) along with pastries grated cheese etc Veg's in another drawer (i chop/grate fresh on offer stuff) meals go in another like left over bol sauce stews etc (label well) Fresh meats go in the bottom (that's my fast freeze drawer) other drawer is ice cream fruits etc for kids.
slowly going nuts at the world:T

Aldi has packs of 3 peppers for 49p. I'd buy up a few of these, chop some (for bolognaise etc) slice some (for fajitas etc), bag and freeze.
Guess what I am doing tomorrow lol!

I'm just about nuts enough to consider filling a fantasy freezer a fun activity :D

Mine would contain any nice joints of meat that I could pick up reduced at teatime during the week at the supermarket, lots of frozen bread and milk, enough home made chicken stock to make you all think I have a stock fetish and some chocolate ice cream for the gf!

my freezer tends to be full of yellow stickered meat, well yellow stickered anything really.

also left over portioned 'ready meals' and 1/2 a drawer of quick and easy stuff for when we are in a rush ie fish fingers, veggie burgers and hm pizza.

reduced meat and fish tends to take up most of it though, i just cant resist a bargain :o

:j Oooh, I like this thread - a fantasy freezer.

Top drawer would be main ingredients:
    • a chicken, cut and frozen in halves
    • a chicken, cut into 8 bits and frozen individually
    • Bacon
    • Sausages
    • Minced beef
    • Lamb chops and steaks
    • Pork chops
    • A joint of beef
    • Salmon pieces
    • White fish
Middle drawer would be odds and ends
    • HM Curry sauce
    • Individual servings of passata ready for making pizza / pasta sauces
    • Grated cheese
    • Frozen peas
    • Chunks of ginger, ready peeled
    • Chillis
    • Lemon Grass
    • Fenugreek Leaves
    • Curry Leaves
    Bottom drawer
    • Fruit (for crumbles & pies)
    • ice cream
I've been putting off defrosting my freezer for weeks. I really must get it done soon.
