Any good deals out there on reasonably priced cooling fans (for the house)
B&Q seem quite expensive at approx £30 for a 12" desk fan or £30 - £45 for a 16" Pedestal fan
Link
Argos however seem reasonably priced
a 12" desk fan from about £15
Link
or a 16" pedestal fan from about £20
Link1 Link2
Anyone used any of these? Are they any good?

We have the 12 inch argos fan. We must have had it well over a year and my husband has had it on every night all night since then. It is really powerful even on the first setting. I don't see any reason why they should be more expensive than this as it seems perfect to me. All of the Argos reviews confirm my thoughts! There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

agreed here too. I've got a big tower fan that's an absolute lifesaver..it's 5 years old, I've just regreased the bearings in it (out of warranty, figured a good stripdown service wouldn't hurt), and it's running most of the day and all night..excellent machine.
Towers and squirrel cage based fans seem to shift MUCH more air than a "flat blade" type.
I have one on my desk now, inside the body of a 1980s fan heater..I just cut out the heater coils and electrics to them, and it works lovely! :rotfl:0
