i got my programmer set to hot wter constantly on, and central heating off, obviously. thing is everytime i go in my airing cupboard the pump is always on? its just me and my partner in a 3 bed home, we use hot water for 2 showers each morning between 0445-0630. rest of the day were at work and in the evening we just use it to have a wash before bed.
i have a sealed pressurised system, boiler and unvented cylinder upstairs.
do i need it set on "constant" or is it a waste of money? help plz...

depends how often you use the hot water and how many people in the house usually you only need to put it on twice a day and id time it an hour aso before to your day/night time routine as an hour be fore u would use the water0

just set the programmer, on at 0340 off at 0540, on at 1700 off at 2100, then set the slide bar to "auto" is this rite or does it need to move to "once"?0

An hour should be enough to get the water up to temperature.
And, unless you're really extravagant with your showers, the water could easily still be warm enough for a wash at night. Experiment with the times and with the boiler stat.
But if you leave it on all day, it's definitely a waste of energy.0 -

We have two people in our house, both shower in the morning, and wash or shower again in the evening (depending on exercise etc) and we have the water timer on for 40 mins in the morning, 20mins at night, and never run out of hot water. Just my 2p.
This also caters for washing up.0
