    But surely, if I then pay off the reduced balance then I will be able to increase my mortgage loan as my credit card balances will be zero. My worry was that the credit card company would state something on my file which would prevent me getting a mortgage. If some of the balance is written off legaly then I clear the rest, won't I be able to get a "full" mortgage ?
