i think if claims for charges are on hold the banks should not be allowed to make these charges either

all charges should be on hold till the descision

At the moment the case is about whether bank terms can be assessed for fairness and not whether the terms are fair.
The second part of the case can involve injunctions against the bank charging. However, at the moment it doesn't so whilst I understand your argument, I don't agree with it based on the current stage of litigation.

Re the MSE news article, this is what the bank's QC Jonathon Sumption told the House of Lords:

''Those charges will necessarily exceed by a large margin the costs to the bank of dealing with the particular transactions that occasion them, because they are actually a revenue stream essential to the funding of the whole current account operation and not just the particular transactions on current accounts which give rise to their charging.''

I second that. Was really careful this month, cut down on spending, bought no alcohol or unnecessary items whatsoever.

Logged on this morning, £95 in fee's from abbey, 3 days before I get paid, meaning I incur a further charge for this month.

"A bank* is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain."

(*Unless it's Santander. The branch says they sent you an umbrella 3 times already and don't understand why you don't have it yet and want it back right now!!!)
