Credit card bills wasting paper.

Have the CC companies never heard of saving the planet? Why is it all bills now come with at least 2 if not 3 pages of pretty useless information. They could easily stick all the stuff on one page.

The worst is Barclaycard which has a page printed with all their T & Cs on the back like the other 2 pages and all it has on the front is "This page is deliberately left blank." :rotfl:

Maybe if they cut down on the paper and printing they could reduce their interest rates. And before someone says you can go to paperless billing on some cards, I know, but I do like to receive and be able to retain a proper bill, I just don't need so much guff.

Both Natwest and Capital One allow you to opt in to "paper-free" where they no longer send out statements, instead requiring you to check your accounts online. You can, of course, print out your statements online and I imagine many do... but I guess it saves on a little of the garbage that they include.

I prefer to have paper statements as well. Never know when I may be without the web for a long period of time.

I would continue to get paper statements. Trying going to a bank to prove your identity (address) with a printout from internet. While banks and cc companies are encouraging going paperless they are loathe to accept any online printouts.

Exactly! I have heard that before. As you need about 30 :D forms of ID when you open a bank account CC statements are a useful means of providing a bill form of ID.

its ridiculous.. when other are saving papers CC companies are wasting paper, indirectly they are harming the planet. We all should opt for eBilling if possible.

Companies are getting onto the environmental bandwagon not necessarily for altruistic reasons - they are saving money on printing, postage etc. I have yet to see an offer which says - opt for paperless billing and we will pass on the monetary savings that we make to you.

Sorry but it's you who is not saving the planet!

Plenty of credit card companies offer paper free statements. I have smile, egg, (both of whom have NEVER offered paper statements), Cap one and Citibank. There's sure to be more. Most offer the option to save the full statement including all the boring bits (for which blame all the shysters trying to renege on their card debts) to pdf.
