Who would you go with - Npower or London Energy
Thanks for looking
I have read through many posts and jjust seem to have confused myself a little more than before.
I am currently with british gas for gas and electric so need to change.
Through the trawling it has come up that i would save most money with one of either Npower of London energy.
They both seem to have put up their prices recently (please correct this if its wrong
) so really i just want actual experiences of whether thy are good or bad and who is the better if possible please
Many thanks from an out of pocket BG customer
regards

hi nelly, I dont know, I am in the same situation, I am with british gas and sweb and npower come up tops. Either that or if i want to go green i can still make a saving, just only half the amount ( that would be with british gas ).

hi-
i have left npower dual fuel online to join london energys similar package. 2 main reasons are 30/40% increases for me on gas + leccy since 1st january and also have had some pretty bad customer service from them. for my postcode (sw scotland) i will save approx £250 with london. regarding price rises i think u are correct- npower raised my tariffs(joined them last august) on april 1st and london energy were 13th march. i have read that londons online dual fuel deal was left alone though so am aware that i could see an increase soon! my advice would be go with the cheapest
but imo to get a true idea of savings you REALLY SHOULD work out ur usage for last year and enter kwh in the comparison sites. good luck!0 -
I agree with johnbhoy watch N Power their customer service is really poor:beer:0

I moved to London Energy several months ago and have been generally pleased with them. Pain in the bum getting the DDs right - but they all seem to fall down there? Little point asking you what date you want in the month, confirming it to you - then setting it up differently? Then, when you get it changed to the agreed date - taking 2 payments in the same month! But they were personable about it and did offer a refund.
One aspect I was less pleased with was when I asked the difference in moving to a capped rate (to 2010?) - as it became clear that more price hikes were in the pipeline. Just asked for an approx % increase - but was immediately quoted ' £2.80 per fuel per quarter'. Got them to repeat that - as it seemed too good to be true - and signed up immediately.
Co-incidentally got a new bill in the following week - and it was quite clear after a half hour arithmetic based on annual kwh - that the increase was over 20% on each fuel! Rang them to find that there is no capped equivalent of the online tariff - and I had been moved from 'online' to 'standard capped' - which is quite a hike. They immediately moved me back to the online tariff, with apologies. Apparently the '£2.80 etc' is the average when moving from standard to standard capped.
It's clear from just looking at my online account that there is a price increase from 13th March. Anyone been notified of that??If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

My London Energy Online gas bill dated 28th March is still at the old pre March 06 prices. I was specifically told by CS that my tariff would not increase.0 -

Thanks for that. Just out of interest - approx how long have you been on the LE online tariff? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Having experienced NPOWER,s customer service and billing !!!! ups I would say avoid at all costs0

I am tempted to move to London Energy (or Seeboard or SWEB, all appear to be the same) but am worried that they are soooo much cheaper. Have they increased their prices yet? Are they likely to?
I don't want to switch from Powergen online to find LE put their prices up even higher.
thanks for any info
