Smoked salmon at Sainsburys

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Smoked Salmon Slices were £6.29 each or 2 for £7.99. They are now on offer at £1.70 which is cheap enough but if you buy two reduced packs totalling £3.40 will the tills deduct £4.59 because of the first offer price of 2 for £7.99.
I haven't tried this yet but worth having a go I think if you are shopping there this week.

Of course it won't work, if they are "on offer".  It only works if they are reduced as in "reduced to clear".

If they reduce the main price as a promotion, they aren't going to leave the existing "buy 2 save £4.59" in place as well.  That would be Boots-style incompetence!

I would think the OP meant that they'd been reduced to the lower price due to short use by date.

Where did you find this offer, was it on "Mad about Bargains" or was it in shop? I noticed it on the MaB site but thought it was a misprint. If you subtract £1.70 from £6.29 you get the new price of £4.59. I was in Sainsbury's last nighy and did not see this on the shelves.

Yes I found the details on "Mad about bargains".
I have just been on the Sainsburys site and the offer is still £6.29 each or 2 for £7.99. Presumably whoever posted on Mad about bargains must have found some reduced at a store for £1.70.

By the way, the tills in my store have still not been updated with the "loophole" and only last week I bought two reduced boxes of Shreddies as the boxes were damaged for 99p each. On the till receipt an 88p multisave had been applied so two boxes for £1.10.

Will definately be checking tomorrow instore cos I reckon if the salmon is reduced, the multisave offer will be applied.

Hope someones cat gets lucky this Xmas!

I think whoever put the items on to the Mad about Bargains site put the new cost and the savings in the WRONG columns!

We tried with Lychees on Tuesday reduced from £1.99 each to £1.19 but BOGOF, the till receipt showed £1.19 and then -£1.19 so they were BOGOF but at the reduced price. Still a good deal so did not complain.
