Smoked salmon at Sainsburys

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Smoked Salmon Slices were £6.29 each or 2 for £7.99. They are now on offer at £1.70 which is cheap enough but if you buy two reduced packs totalling £3.40 will the tills deduct £4.59 because of the first offer price of 2 for £7.99.
I haven't tried this yet but worth having a go I think if you are shopping there this week.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Sainsburys have fixed this flaw in their checkout systems. They now discount by the value of the item as scanned - not the original price (so if an item is on BOGOF and reduced from £3.00 to £1.00, the checkout will show -£1.00 for the BOGOF item)

This is not a bogof deal and as far as I am aware you will receive the £4.59, if you like smoked salmon then at that price its certainly worth the risk to find out for yourself!!

Are you DEFINATELY telling me this wont work? Have you tried it?
I know it doesnt work on the BOGOFS but have they stopped it on the buy 2 save etc etc!!!!!!

This is not a bogof deal and as far as I am aware you will receive the £4.59, if you like smoked salmon then at that price its certainly worth the risk to find out for yourself!!

They have an offer on in-store-baked packets of 4 croissants - buy 2 packs for £X. Bought 2 reduced packets tonight, and the original discount was still applied.

No smoked salmon (don't actually like the stuff, but at a profit I'd give it to the cats!).
