I think it is a little too early. I would probably send them out at the start of August unless you need to give definate numbers before then.

I sent ours out two weeks ago for wedding in 5 weeks.

Yeah sounds good. I was of the opinion that if you send too far in advance then people struggle to give a definate answer or forget to rsvp. We had 50% of our rsvp's back in the first two weeks. Just waiting for the rest now!

We'll be sending ours out about 10-12 weeks before, andwe sent save the date cards.

This isnt aimed at the poster btw, just a whinge about people

People who struggle to give an answer amaze me, when I am invited to a wedding I don't hold on to it and see if a better offer comes up.
If the people who were getting married aren't that important to me then I wouldnt go and say no from the off, after all attending a wedding isnt cheap.
If something big is on the horizon you tend to know about it well in advance to be able to make the decision about what to attend

If you have sent save the dates then atleast you know that anyone who is intending on coming should have penciled the wedding in already :)

I agree. It's very frustrating for the couple but for other people it just isn't a big issue as it isn't their big day. My aunt hasn't replied yet as I know she is waiting to find out whether she has to go for an op from now until the wedding.

thats understandable so i'd give her the benefit. ;-)

Just as an aside, my aunt, who i'm actually very close to, wont book her hotel room at the wedding as, in her words "I might not be here anymore!"
Makes me chuckle, she is only 70 and the female side of my family have a tendancy to live long!
