Bank Charges - No communication recieved

Hi,

I was hoping someone would be able to help me with this. I have just been charged £175 by my bank for going overdrawn. However, i never recieved any communication from them to say i was overdrawn and would be charged. Can they take the money from my account with no communication prior or should they legally have to contact me first?

Many Thanks
Ceire

  • Im with HSBC.
Im not to sure how they are made up. I checked my account yesterday and they had just taken a bulk of £175 out.
I might email them and find out exactly how they've come up with that amount.
Worst of it is that i was made redundant from my job, so not currently working, and am bringing up a child on my own. As if times arent tough enough :-(
