One scam to be aware of, that Co-op Funeralcare are running, is to lure you in with a cash back scheme to your loyalty card (In my case, £250). Of course, when comparing prices, you factor this into your calculations, but they then don!!!8217;t pay out.

It!!!8217;s all nods, smiles, and reassurances every time you bring it up with anyone, but ultimately, you get told that you must have made an error entering your 18 digit card number online, as the online form will apparently accept any 18 digits.

I challenged this, being particular, and not the type to make data entry errors, so they dug a little deeper, and came up with the fact that I am a Midcounties Co-op member, not a Co-op member. It seems there are several Co-op groups in the UK, and co-operate, they do not!

The fiasco ended with a cocky call centre operative inviting me to send in a confirmation letter from them, secure in the knowledge, no doubt, that they had never sent me one in the first place.
