Financial Hardship questions...

Hi All, advice please!
I've had my claim with Barclays on hold since last year and have written to them requesting a refund on the grounds of financial hardship due to my wife losing her job. I've received an income and expenditure sheet and have some questions for those who have filled one in...
The first part asks to fill in borrowing commitments. I have a DMP with the CCCS so should I just put this as the commitment or do I need to detail each creditor and how much they receive from the DMP? Reason I ask is there is space to detail debts with Barclays, which I do have, however if I do get a refund I want it to be paid to me rather than to clear the Barclays debts..
Also, it asks for my bank account details (i'm not with Barclays anymore). Any idea why this is? Are Barclays able to check with my current bank for any information about my account?
I'm sure the majority of people slightly exaggerate their circumstances when applying under financial hardship, but are the banks likely to find out??
Thanks all!

Fill in each creditor and how much you pay them - if they have agreed to the cccs payments, any that havent and are hassling you still, fill in the amounts they want etc.
detail the debts with barclays -any refund can ONLy be used to cover arrears, not simply reduce the balances. Also, it asks for my bank account details (i'm not with Barclays anymore). Any idea why this is? Are Barclays able to check with my current bank for any information about my account?
Just put n/a closed accountI'm sure the majority of people slightly exaggerate their circumstances when applying under financial hardship, but are the banks likely to find out??
Don't exagerate. don't forget they can see how your account was run before you closed it. Also they will ask for evidence of utility etc arrears.
If you feel you need to exagerate it could be either you arent in hardship, or you have some things you havent accounted for correctly in your IE sheet.
If you want any help then feel free to pm me.LegalBeagles0 -
Thanks esmerellda,
I can fill in each creditors details, which are mostly Barclays as they seem to have taken over the companies I originally had accounts with. My concern is that I'm obviously in arrears on the original contract as I couldn't meet minimum payments, hence moving to a DMP. Do you mean they can only use refunds to clear arrears on a DMP payment? If so that's fine as I've never missed a payment on the DMP.
With regard to the account they ask for my Barclays bank account details OR other account if I no longer have one with Barclays (I haven't used my Barclays account for several years). This seems strange, why would they want/need my new bank account details unless they could somehow view details of how I manage it?
I don't intend exaggerating and can prove hardship claims, but intend making it as likely as possible that they will refund the charges as they're very much needed!
Thanks again0
