    Have a look at the Accountant in Bankruptcy website. They explain how it works on there. Also if you get one of the council money advisors to arrange it for you, they don't take a fee like some of the independant money advisors.

    There's no hard and fast rule about a time limit. My DHs DAS is 13 yrs long, we're a year into it. It was based more on what was affordable to pay rather than a fixed term of payment.
