                    Hi there,
I need to find out when my house was built.
How do I do this? Is there somewhere online that I can do this? Can I do this on the Land Registry website?
Thank you.

Why do you need the information? Is it a particularly old place and unique in the area?0

I found out the age of mine just by asking neighbours?
In my old houes it was easy. It was 1898 terraced and loads of people over the years had scratched their names and dates in the entry.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

It is actually for my mother's house, not mine!
My mother doesn't exactly have good relationships with her neighbours. Not that she has bad relationships, she just doesn't bother to speak to them! So randomly striking up a conversation about the age of the houses would be a little odd!
We are probably talking around 90-100ish years old.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T

Should be on documentation from when she bought the house or possibly on the survey.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Oh dear! That might mean a trip up into the loft, which is a very very scary prospect indeed!
Is there no way for me to find out online at all?'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T

Old-maps.co.uk has various maps from different times and you should be able to see the rough time it was built.
Tell your Mum to stop being so silly and go and speak with the neighbours, I'm sure there are some nice ones out there!Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Sometimes if there is a row of terraced house they have a plaque in the middle of the houses saying when they were built, my mums says 1929...0

I will have a look at old-maps.co.uk right now!
Hmmmm! Well the neighbour on the one side is a convicted !!!!!phile (not that I personally believe this is adequate reason to not speak to someone, but my mum doesn't want anything to do with him) and the one on the other side is a heroin dealer who has broken into her shed on numerous occassions. So she's not really being 'silly'.
Apart from that there are very few people in the road who would have a clue as to the age of the property. It is probable that many of them wouldn't even be able to tell you the age of their eldest child (or their name)- it is a very rough area and the combined IQ of the entire street is probably about 15.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport.
