Slightly confused about DirectX 11 Cards

Im confsued about the new DX11 graphic cards coming out later in year.

Will DX11 be built into next gen cards coming out soon? I always thought DX was a Windows creation, and it is downloaded? Am i wrong?

My point being, buying a GPU card now, even the top of the range, will it work with DX11 or will only the new cards coming out take advantage of DX11?

Im confused whether it's built in the card, or just downloaded by ones self. Ive never really took much notice of this side of the gaming, but DX11 looks amazing.

I can't find any articles on new cards being released, is Nvidia & ATI releasing new cards this year?

Also DX11 won't be released to the public till October right? Im guessing that is to fit in with Windows 7? Even though they say DX11 will work on Vista also.

So can we say for sure, that come November. That we will have the following....

1) Windows 7
2) DX 11
3) New GPU card's
& Maybe
4) New Intel CPU's

ATI is hoping that Windows 7 and DirectX 11 will help stimulate a flat market for graphics cards. In an attempt to get a head start on the competition, ATI will have their new DirectX 11 graphics chips launched before Windows 7 hits the shelves:
DirectX 11 will offer a much better graphics experience than previous versions, and AMD’s first DirectX 11 capable GPU, the RV870, is expected to be launched at the back end of July.

Wow that is very soon, less than a month away! and to think i was going to spend a fortune this week on a gaming rig:rolleyes: Think i will hold out for a few weeks, at very least the price of the HD 4890 should come down alot! and if they new cards are any good, i will pay the extra. Can't find any news on Nvidia cards though.
