On June 22nd I booked a Advance single between Manchester Picc and York leaving Man Picc at 07.55 getting into York at 09.23 for Sat 12th Sept on the Great Western Website and i got the Tickets in the post a few days later.

Now I was looking for some times between York and Sunderland that day on the same website and see that now all Advance Tickets have been taken off for the Tickets that I booked and have in my hand and also that The times have all changed due to all trains leave man Vic not Man Picc!!!!icon_sad.gif

Now Its have messed everything up now for me as I am coming from Stoke and have a Advance booked on the same day to get the 07.55am from Man picc to York which is not a sevice now and again i have got the Tickets for the Stoke to Man as well.

Why Have they done this and why Did they sell the Tickets and then take them off as when i booked them it had MAN PICC TO YORK NOT MAN VIC TO YORK WITH LONGER TRAIN TIMES.

What can i do as it has messed everything up now and the same goes for getting back later on the same day.

I did Call First trans pennie as they run the Trains on that route and they told me they will contact the train line(i didnt book on there website i booked on First great westerns site) and see about getting a refund and that they will contact me but im not holding out for that and also wanted to know will they make me pay the £10 admin fee that they make u pay when you want to change tickets? as this is not my fault.

Any Advice please.

Please help.

This is one of the disadvantages of trying to do a journey using a series of advance purchase tickets. Mostly it works but when things go wrong you haven't a leg to stand on as regards connecting.

You will still be able to travel between M/cr and York at roughly the times you booked for. The lack of connections is the risk you took for your lower price. To that extent it is your 'fault' - though I wouldn't want to use that particular word.

As to why - probably they were landed with engineering works being rescheduled for the day you are travelling

So - I don't think there is anything you can do unless FGW waive the T&C.

All sorted now as got a full Refund as they told me they shouldnt have sold the Advance Tickets when they knew works was due to take place.

Just one thing why did you say it was kind of my Fault? Im just asking as i had booked all my Tickets and had all the times worked out untill they took the Train that i had got tickets and had booked off.

Not really my fault that is it?

Also i asked them if they wanted me to send tickets back to them and they said no as the Train from manchester to york is now not going to run which i though was a bit funny as i though they would want the tickets back but then again they did take the ref number that i had booked under.
